For dinner, the on-site restaurant "La Terrazze" next to the pool overlooking the sea is a good place to relax and enjoy a variety of dishes, seafood, Senegalese dishes, grilled meat or even pizza.
You can go outside the hotel to visit other excellent restaurants and eat Italian pizza.
Fishing
From the room directly to the boat.
As expected, there is a private marina on site where our boats are moored.
The style of fishing in Dakar is a little different from the style of Mindelo, as you know, trolling is almost 100% with a teaser... pitch , etc .
In Dakar, we place a couple of fish-attracting devices at a distance of 15 to 25 miles from the hotel to create a large concentration of baits (small striped tuna, dorado, etc.), and in the period from October to mid-December it is very easy to find more marlin and also this time is great for yellowfin tuna. 80/120 kg.
The usual day fishing starts around 8 am.
We sail to the first point (8/10 miles from the shore), trolling a troll with artificial baits until fish-attracting devices are installed. It's very funny to come to their installation, since you can catch live bait by spinning or jigging, including a very large bait, a large tuna. When we have a tuna fishing tube that is full of live bait, we troll one on the surface and the other with a bottom rigger... waiting for the monster.
Climate
The climate is subequatorial, very arid, with a short rainy season and a long dry season. The rainy season lasts from July to October, and the dry season from November to June. Dakar receives approximately 395 mm of precipitation per year, all during the rainy season, precipitation is extremely rare in the dry season.
Temperatures in Dakar are lower than in other African cities at a similar latitude, and only in September-October they reach a little more than 30 ° C. With a small amount of precipitation, humidity is kept at a high level all year round, even in the dry season, when there is no precipitation. The special microclimate of the city in comparison with the rest of West Africa is caused by the fact that it is cooled by the sea breeze all year round.
