The best place for fishing in Zambia is the Zambezi river, one of the longest rivers on the African continent, occurring in the South and West of the country. It's thrilling encounter with wild African nature which can surprise even the very experienced fishermen. Victoria falls divides the river into two parts, the Upper (above the falls) and Lower Zambezi (below the falls). Seasonal fluctuations of water level in them are slightly different and therefore fishing seasons in areas is slightly different.
The main trophy: tiger Fish (Goliath tiger fish vittatus or Hydrocunus), which is a relative of the piranha with huge teeth and grows up to 50 kg. the most Interesting opponent for the angler,strong, stubborn, and unpredictable behavior on the hook and beautiful candles.
Additionally, many types of cichlid, which is called here with one word - bream (bream), claravia catfish, the largest catfish Vundu, reaching up to 1.5 m in length and weighs 55 kg.

A three-hour drive from Livingstone, hidden from human sight on the banks of the Upper Zambezi is a lodge that is one of the best places to go for a tigerfish trophy. Mutemwa means “place of the big trees“ and indeed, camping under their crowns creates an extraordinary sense of merging with African nature.
The Lodge consists of six tented bungalows overlooking the river, set on teak platforms. Each bungalow has two beds and an en-suite bathroom. The maximum capacity of the lodge – 12 persons. The lodge has its own airstrip, which allows tourists to arrive here by charter plane.
30 km. of private river area were chosen 15 years ago focusing on the quality of fishing. There is only one small camp on this section, so it is almost unreal to meet fishermen here and all the water belongs to you. The abundance of rapids, holes, whirlpools, small streams and backwaters make this an ideal place for fishing.
