The climate is moderately continental, in the mountains — Alpine, on the Adriatic coast — Mediterranean. In the Central regions of Montenegro is always somewhat cooler than on the coast, and significantly influence subalpine factors. In the coastal area the summers are long, hot and fairly dry, winter is short and wet.

Hunting in private households of Montenegro are allowed all year round, but on the basis of the combination of trophy quality animal and weather conditions the best time for hunting is the autumn-winter.
