Offshore fishing on Reinoia Island
On the southern side of the island of Reinoia you will find Finnkroken. It is a welcoming and beautiful North Norwegian rural area, set amidst wild and majestic nature, yet close to the city of Tromsø.
The abundant fishing in the area makes this place a favorite for sea fishing and nature lovers. Cod and saithe are most common here, but halibut, catfish and haddock are also caught.
Here you can hear the silence, see and listen to the rich bird life. For northern lights lovers, this area is just perfect. At any time of the year you can spend excellent leisure time here. From the lodges you can go hiking, as well as skiing. By appointment, you can take a guided walk through the village with a guide who will explain the history and culture of the village of Finnkroken.
The lodges are located about 1.5 hours by car (including ferry) from Tromsø Airport. On weekdays the bus runs in the morning and afternoon. On some days there is also a speedboat to and from the center of Tromsø.
The climate of this country varies depending on the latitudes, that is, in the South it is temperate, while the North is dominated by the subarctic climatic zone. Norway located on the same latitude with Alaska, Greenland and Siberia, but the climate in Norway is much milder. Thanks to the Gulf stream and warm air currents, the climate is much nicer than one would assume.
