The best time to go to Lofoten depends on what you want to catch.
For example, halibut is available from April through December. For cod fishing, plan a trip from February through April, and the summer months are ideal for sea trout.
Winter can be hectic, but if you use a fishing guide, there will be no problems fishing during the colder months. In fact, from January through April you have a good chance of catching huge cod.
The fishing base is located on the beach in Skreda, 5 km from Leknes Airport, which is in the center of the Lofoten Islands. Just 10 minutes from the camp is the largest shopping center in the Lofoten Islands, Leknes, where you can find everything you need during your stay at the base.
Climate
The climate of this country varies depending on the latitudes, that is, in the South it is temperate, while the North is dominated by the subarctic climatic zone. Norway located on the same latitude with Alaska, Greenland and Siberia, but the climate in Norway is much milder. How to get there
To get to Lofoten, you can use SAS, Norwegian and Widerøe airlines. If you are traveling with Norwegian or SAS, you will have to change planes in Bodø or Tromsø. It is Widerøe that flies across the fjord from Bodø to Lofoten. The flight time across the fjord is approximately 20 minutes. Widerøe also operates a direct route between Oslo and Leknes, allowing you to avoid connecting in Bodø. There is also a direct route from Tromsø to Leknes, which is operated by Widerøe.
Another popular option is to fly into Evenes in Harstad and rent a car. From there, it takes approximately 3.5 hours to get to Leknes.
