Fishing in the Algarve
The Algarve is one of the best places for Big Game Fishing, not only in Europe but in the world.Temperature differences created by the collision of warm and cold currents create ideal conditions for development of abundant forage, and concentrations of smaller fish attract in these waters a large predator.
It is hard to imagine that in Western Europe there is a place where almost every day catch record instances of the Gladiator of the ocean with a weight of 350 kg!
For several desyatiletij, the southern part of Portugal – is the mainland centre for European big game phishing. 25 July 1993 the English fisherman Michael Dallas was caught a blue Marlin the weight of which was 1741 £ 789 kg!!! Giant Marlin did not fit entirely on the scale and cut him into two parts. This act violated the rules of the International Association of sport fishing – IGFA. Unfortunately the IGFA did not recognize the capture of Mr. Dallas as a new world record. This Marlin would be an absolute record caught sporting method of fishing with a margin of more than 140 kg from the current world record blue Marlin composes 645 kg.
Caught instances of blue Marlin here do not fall below 200 kg, although the average weight is 350 kg, and white Marlin of 50 kg and more!
In Portugal is subtropical Mediterranean climate: mild, without sharp fluctuations of temperatures.
